The unit is currently staffed by three co-responder teams. Each team consists of a sworn officer that is paired with a mental health clinician. Responsibilities include liaising with the mental and behavioral health community, assisting in calls for service with a mental health relation, and proactively addressing problems before they have a chance to develop to the crisis stage.
